How to Know if Your Website Is Leaking Leads

Your website might look beautiful. It might even win awards. But if no one’s clicking the button, booking the call, or filling out the form, then something’s off.

A good website doesn’t just exist. It works.

Here’s how to find out if your website is quietly leaking leads (and how to plug the holes).

1. Is There a Clear Call to Action?

If someone lands on your homepage, do they know what to do next?

If your CTA is hiding in the footer or buried halfway down the page, it’s time to bring it front and center. A simple “Book a Call” or “Get a Quote” works better than a dozen clever slogans.

2. Is It Built for Mobile First?

More than half of your visitors are probably on their phones. If your site looks like a desktop site shrunk down to fit a postage stamp, people will bounce.

Test it on your own phone. Navigate. Tap. Fill out a form. If it’s painful, it’s leaking leads.

3. Do Your Forms Work (and Actually Convert)?

You’d be shocked how many forms we’ve found that just… don’t submit. Or worse, they submit but no one sees the notification.

Test your forms monthly. And if they’re 14 questions long, shorten them. Ask for what you need and nothing more. Every extra field is a reason to bail.

4. Is Your Site Speed Slowing People Down?

If it takes more than a few seconds to load, people are gone. You can check your site speed with Google’s PageSpeed Insights.

And if you see red alerts, don’t panic. It’s usually fixable with image compression and a little backend cleanup.

5. Are You Answering the Right Questions?

Your site should speak to your ideal customer, not your industry peers. Cut the jargon. Lead with the problem you solve and the result they can expect.

They’re not looking for a buzzword bingo card. They just want to know if you can help.

The Bottom Line

A website should work as hard as you do. If it’s not guiding people toward a next step, it’s time for a tune-up.
