Frequently Asked Questions
Questions we get asked the most
Who comes up with the ideas, what's our approach?
The ideas come from us, but they’re built around you. Our whole team sits in the same office and bounces ideas off each other constantly, so you’re not just getting one person’s brain, you’re getting seven. Our approach starts with actually understanding your business, your customers, and what makes you different, then we build content that reflects that instead of chasing whatever trend is happening that week. We do keep an eye on trends too, we just don’t let them run the show. The goal is always content that sounds like you, not content that sounds like every other business in your industry.
What are our backgrounds?
We come at this from a bunch of different angles, which is honestly why the team works. There’s journalism and copywriting in the mix, there’s graphic design, there’s video and photography, there’s web development and programming, and there’s strategy and account management holding it all together. Nobody on our team is a generalist pretending to do everything a little bit, everyone brings a specific skill to the table and we build your team around whatever your business actually needs.
How do we come up with content for a niche industry?
This is where we lean hard into the research part of who we are. When we take on a client in a niche industry, we don’t just skim your website and call it a day, we actually dig in. We ask a lot of questions, we look at what other businesses in the space are doing, and we spend real time learning the language your customers use so our content doesn’t read like an outsider wrote it. Over time, as we keep working together, we get sharper on the details that matter in your world, and the content gets better because we understand more.
How do approvals work?
Nothing goes live without your eyes on it first. Depending on how you like to work, content gets shared through Trello, email, or whatever tool makes sense for you, and you’ll get a chance to give feedback or approve before anything posts.
We build in time for revisions so it never feels rushed, and if something needs a tweak, that’s just part of the normal process, not an inconvenience. The goal is a system that feels easy on your end, because you’ve already got enough on your plate.
What if we have a marketing coordinator already?
That’s great, and it doesn’t mean you don’t need us. A lot of our clients have someone in house already, and we just slot in as the extra hands and extra ideas that person needs. We can handle the parts that eat up the most time, like content creation, video, or website work, while your coordinator focuses on the strategy and relationships only they can manage. Think of us as backup, not competition. And sometimes it works the other way too, where we end up replacing that role entirely. Either way works for us, we just want to fit into however your business actually runs.
Can we add on services later?
For sure. Most of our client relationships start with one thing and grow from there, and that’s exactly how we like it. Maybe you start with social media and decide six months in that you need a website refresh, or you start with content and realize you want photography and video in the mix too. As your business changes, your marketing should too, and we’re set up to add things on without having to rebuild the whole relationship from scratch.
How long does a website take?
It depends on the size and scope, but most websites take somewhere between four and eight weeks from kickoff to launch. That timeline covers strategy, design, content, revisions, and testing, because we would rather get it right than get it fast. Bigger sites with more pages or custom functionality can take longer, and we’ll always give you a realistic timeline upfront based on what you actually need, not a generic number that sounds good in a sales pitch.
